Narrative Writing
Hello readers and welcome back to my blog,
Today I will be sharing with you a fairy tale that I broke into parts. A narrative needs an orientation, a middle, a problem and a solution. I wasn't supposed to do it because I had already done it on another template. Then my teacher said it was alright because I had done extra work. So this is my work I hope you like it.
Title: Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Main Characters: Goldilocks, Daddy Bear, Mommy Bear, Baby Bear.
Orientation/Beginning: Once upon a time there were three bears who lived in a cottage. There was a Daddy bear, a Mommy bear and a Baby bear. Mommy bear was making porridges for the family for breakfast, Daddy bear’s tummy was growling. Once Mommy bear put down the porridges she said “let’s go on a walk so the porridges can cool down.” Daddy bear was a little sad. While they went on the walk there was this little girl named Goldilocks who was skipping through the forest, she smelled something so she followed the smell.
Build-Up/Events: She ended up seeing a cottage and she wanted to go inside. She knocked on the door and it opened by itself! She peeked inside and there was no one there. So she went inside. She saw 3 bowls of porridges. She was so excited because she loved porridges. She hurried through the door. She tasted the biggest bowl of porridge, “this porridge is too hot!” So she tried the medium sized bowl of porridge, “this porridge is too cold!” So she tried the smallest bowl of porridge….. “this porridge is just right,” she mumbled as she ate the porridge. After she gobbled up all the porridge she wanted to relax for a while so she went to the living room. There was a big blue couch, she tried it out, “this is too hard,” she said. So she tried the pink chair, “this is too soft” she said. So she tried the small yellow wooden chair, “this is just right.” After a few seconds she heard some crackling sounds. She fell to the floor as the chair broke into pieces. “Oops,” She whispered. Since she couldn’t sit in the chair she had to go upstairs to have a nap. She saw a big door that had a sign that said “Daddy Bear,” so she went into the room. She saw a big blue bed so she tried it out, “This bed is too big and hard.” so she went out of the room and went into the next one that said “Mommy Bear,” so she went in. She saw a fluffy pink bed so she tried it out. She fell right in and she could barely get out. When she finally did, she went to the next room that said “Baby Bear,” so she went in. She saw a small yellow bed with one white pillow so she tried it out. “This bed is just right” as she went fast asleep.
Complication/Problem/Dilemma: When the Daddy bear, Mommy bear and Baby bear came back from the long walk they were about to enter the house before they saw that the door was already open! Mommy bear said “I must’ve forgotten to close the door but I am pretty sure I closed it.” They walked in the house gently as they thought that there was someone in the house. They went to the table to eat their porridge! “ROOOOOOAAAAAAR!!!” Daddy bear roared. Someone ate a bit of my porridge! “ROOOAAARRR!” Mommy bear roared. “Someone ate a bit of my porridge too! “Roar!” Baby bear gave his loudest roar. “Someone ate my porridge and they finished it all up, waaaah waaaah waaaah! Let’s go upstairs to sit in our chairs and think about what just happened. As they were walking up the stairs they all saw some muddy footprints. They decided to follow them and the footprints led them to the chairs. “ROOOOOOAAAAAAR!” Daddy bear roared. “Someone sat on my chair.” “ROOOAAARRR!” Mommy bear roared. “Someone sat on my chair too.” “Roar!” Baby bear gave his even louder roar. “Someone has been sitting on my chair and they have broken it!” They were getting really mad so they went up to the bedrooms. Daddy bear went into his room, Mummy bear went into her room and Baby bear went into his room. Daddy bear saw that someone had been sleeping on his bed, “Someone has been sleeping in my bed!” He shouted grumply. So he went to Mummy bear’s room. Mummy bear saw that someone had been sleeping in her bed. “Someone has been sleeping in my bed!” She yelled angrily. So they both went to Baby bear’s room. Baby bear saw that someone had been sleeping in his bed. “Someone has been sleeping in my bed and SHE is still sleeping!” Shouted Baby bear.
Resolution: Daddy bear, Mommy bear and Baby bear shouted as loud as they could, “RRRRRRRROOOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRR! Goldilocks woke up with a huge fright. Baby bear said “get out of my bed!” “I'm so so so sorry!” Goldilocks gasped sadly and she ran down the stairs and out the door. I can’t believe she would break into our house and eat our porridge, sit in our chairs and sleep in our beds.
Ending: Mommy bear made more porridges for Daddy bear and Baby bear and obviously herself. Daddy bear and Mommy bear bought Baby bear a new chair and they lived happily ever after.
